Zine Making Workshop with April Ibarra Siqueiros

Participants will collaborate on creating a collective zine that highlights their unique identities and stories. Using the poem Where I’m From by George Ella Lyon to brainstorm, participants will create a unique page about who they are and where they come from. The event is free for CSUSM students, but there is limited space with a capacity of 25 participants. Dina Gilio-Whitaker's Book Launch "Who Gets To Be Indian?"

Ethnic Fraud, Disenrollment, and Other Difficult Conversations About Native American Identity. Hosted by the American Indian Studies Department and the California Indian Culture & Sovereignty Center, this event will spark critical dialogue on identity, sovereignty, tribal governance, and other pressing issues in Native communities. Open to students, faculty, and the public, the event highlights the campus’s role in fostering inclusive, socially relevant conversations on contemporary Indigenous issues.
