CSUSM Falls 2-0 to Vanguard
SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team (0-2-0) dropped a 2-0 decision to Vanguard (1-1-0) on Saturday afternoon at The Cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM controlled possession early and registered six first-half shots, including a pair of near misses from outside the box.
- Vanguard broke through just before halftime when Adan Alvarado converted a penalty kick in the 45th minute.
- The Cougars continued to press in the second half, generating eight more shots and four corner kicks.
- Tyler Williams doubled Vanguard's lead in the 79th minute with a solo effort.
- CSUSM had a late chance in the 85th minute, but the shot sailed just wide of the post.
