Calvillo Named FloCollege/CCAA Defensive Player of the Week
SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Emma Calvillo of Cal State San Marcos has been selected as this week's FloCollege/CCAA Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after earning two shutouts on the road.
Calvillo and the Cougars blanked Cal Poly Humboldt and Chico State during the team's longest conference road trip to start the CCAA season. In 180 minutes of play, with the help of a stellar CSUSM defense, Calvillo tallied the clean sheets with six total saves. She helped CSUSM to a scoreless draw at Humboldt on Friday and held the Wildcats off the scoreboard in Sunday's 1-0 victory.
The redshirt freshman from Chino Hills has now recorded a shutout in four consecutive matches and has five this season.
Calvillo is second in the conference with her five shutouts and is third with a .500 goals-against average. She's ninth best with a .810 save percentage (2.13 saves per match). Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders
