CSUSM Drops Three Straight to Stan State
SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team (4-16, 3-9 CCAA) dropped a three-set decision (16-25, 15-25, 21-25) to Stanislaus State (10-9, 8-4 CC)) on Saturday afternoon at The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Set 1 (25-16 STAN): CSUSM kept pace early, tying the score five times and taking a brief lead at 5-4. A 7-1 Stanislaus run, fueled by kills from Emily Meyer and Malia Tanksley, swung momentum. The Warriors closed the set with a 6-1 burst, including two aces from Victoria Plumb, to win 25-16.
- Set 2 (25-15 STAN): The Cougars rallied from an early 8-4 deficit to tie the set at 9-9 behind back-to-back aces from Seligmiller. Stanislaus responded with a 7-1 run, including a ace and kill from Lauren Gonzales, to pull away. The Warriors finished the set with three consecutive points, capped by another Gonzales ace, to take it 25-15.
- Set 3 (25-21 STAN): CSUSM showed resilience, leading 10-8 after a kill by Hazel Livingston-Jones. Stanislaus answered with a 6-1 run, highlighted by three kills from Christallynn Tate. The Cougars narrowed the gap to 23-21 after a kill by Kranz, but the Warriors closed out the match with a block and a kill from Meyer to seal the 25-21 win.
