CSUSM Earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for Third Straight Season

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team was announced as a 2024-25 College Team Academic Award honoree by the United Soccer Coaches.

Earning the honor for a third straight season, CSUSM tallied a 3.11 grade-point average for the academic year.

"Earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award is a reflection of our guys' continued commitment to academic standards," CSUSM Head Men's Soccer Coach Ron Pulvers said. "We are extremely proud, as this is an award that we strive to earn each year."

The Team Academic Award was created to recognize student-athletes' commitment to excellence in the classroom. To be eligible for the College Team Academic Award, the nominated program must be a current member of United Soccer Coaches College Services.

For a team to be considered for the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, it must have a composite team grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for all team members who appear on the official NCAA, NAIA, NCCAA or junior college roster forms for the fall season.

A total of 750 soccer teams (306 men, 444 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2024-25 academic year. Of that total, 170 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized.
