CHICO, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team (4-2-2, 1-0-1 CCAA) concluded the opening weekend of CCAA play by picking up a point with a scoreless draw at Chico State (6-2-1, 1-0-1 CCAA) on Sunday at University Soccer Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Scoreless after 45 minutes, Chico led the first half in shots at 5-4 and had a 3-1 advantage on corner kicks. Both teams put one shot on goal.
- The Cougars came out firing in the second half with a 12-3 lead in shots while putting three on goal, but none were able to find the back of the net. CSUSM also had four corner kicks for the period to Chico's two.
QUICK KICKS
- The Cougars ended up taking twice as many shots as the Wildcats at 16-8.
- Natalie Paulson led CSUSM with a career-high three shots while Avery Piera led Chico with three.
- Both sides took five corner kicks for the game.
- This was the second scoreless draw in the all-time series between the Cougars and Wildcats with the last occurring in 2021 in Chico.
- CSUSM has held Chico scoreless in four consecutive games dating back to 2019.
